DeskNow
groupware fits the needs and budget of many companies

offers the optional DeskNow SyncML synchronization
utility to synchronize the contacts between DeskNow
and Outlook both ways. It also serves as a simple migration
tool from your old Outlook to the new DeskNow. The synchronization
tool can also be used to synchronize your DeskNow with
your laptop or hand-held device including some cell
phones.
DeskNow
with the MySQL or Postgres SQL database can handle all
your company's mail and collaboration data. The mail
and collaboration data are stored on a central server.
No more panic attacks when a workstation hard drive
dies. The DeskNow utilities include a scheduled backup
to protect your users' data stored in the database.
Outlook and Exchange 5.5/2000 users will be glad to
hear that there is no more two-gig limit for their individual
folders. Anybody that ever "overstuffed" an
Outlook PST file knows what I mean. With DeskNow, these
are just painful but distant memories.
DeskNow
has several built-in spam filters such as SLS, SURBL
& Bayes. However, it faces the same problem as Microsoft
Exchange. All the received spam takes up room in the
database. This is not small change. Spam often accounts
for 80 or more percent of the e-mail traffic. Bottom
line—this garbage takes away valuable room in your
database. It causes dramatically longer backup times
and wears out your equipment. The optional XWall/ESAT
solution solves this problem. It keeps spam outside
DeskNow (and Exchange for that matter) and automatically
maintains its archive. It expires quarantined messages
after a set number of days. ESAT sends your mail clients
spam reports typically once a day. These reports are
formatted to give a quick, graphical overview of the
users' spam blocked. If needed, a message can be retrieved
unaltered. XWall/ESAT represents total e-mail control
and scans millions of e-mails every day around the world.
