Not sure if XWall will do the job for you? We are—and we back it up with a 30-day, totally free trial period. But we would like to give you some idea of just how easy it is to combat spam and viruses. The screen shots show you some of the setup tables. All features of XWall are well tested and have been used for years by many Fortune 1000 companies. XWall represents an excellent value and exceptional performance. We have installations where XWall filters messages for well over 4000 accounts per server.

General Features
XWall handles all domains on your Exchange server. After one of the XWall filters catches a message, you can choose from a list of different actions. Each filter has it's own actions. If you choose "Mark Subject," you can set the "mark" to be used for the different filters.

If you operate XWall through an NAT router or firewall, XWall can masquerade the correct IP and host name for your domain instead your internal settings. XWall detects when your server's hard drive fills up, and it stops when there is less than 50 megs of free space to protect older NT servers from corrupting the hard drive. XWall integrates a number of file-based virus scanners. Since XWall assembles the messages, it can effectively scan the messages for any viruses.

The XWall CSS (Central Checksum Service) protects from emerging threats including unknown viruses and mass spam mailings. The XWall CSS filter can be set to different levels of sensitivity. XWall protects your user directory from harvesters by adding a delay to user verification.

Automated Spam Filters
XWall can use a large number of RBL™, SLS, DNSBL and open relay services based on IP address or domain name. XWall allows you to group the services to achieve a minimum of false positives. XWall offers a link checking using SURBL. When assembling the messages, XWall finds any links in the messages and compares their IP addresses to the SURBL blacklist. The XWall Bayes filter keeps a database of good and bad words based on the findings of the other filters.

The XWall Heuristic filter, a.k.a. Spamassasin™, looks at different criteria of the message such as fake MX and no subject. For each check the message fails, it gets penalized. It the penalty score reaches the level set by you, the message is considered spam.
The XWall Greylisting filter only accepts new senders if they resend the message once. Since that adds a lot to the overhead, spammers do not re-send, making Greylisting a very effective automated spam fighting tool.

Manual Blocking
XWall allows you to block all or specified attachments incoming and/or outgoing. XWall can block e-mails using a particular character set. Works great for emails from China and Russia. XWall can block mail to and from specified e-mail addresses or domains.

With XWall, you can block text strings or words in messages or subject lines. XWall also blocks headers identifying that the sender is using particular mass mailers. XWall can be set to block exploits like double extensions.

XWall can block any e-mails not addressed to users on your Exchange. Checking can be real-time or of address lists.

Excluding Mail from Filters
You can exclude any domain or e-mail address from the XWall filters based on a single filter or a global (all) exclusion. You can exclude words like "customer service" or" tech support." If that word is found in the message text, the message will not be blocked. You can use the white list SLS/RBLs™. These services have a database of known spamers.

When using global excludes, you can select which filters are affected by the automatic white list or the manual global excludes. XWall can keep an automatically generated white list for each user or for the whole company. The white list contains all addresses the users send e-mail to. XWall can allow passage for messages sent securely or by authenticated senders.
